Alien Robots Slots Review, % Payout and Casino Bonus

Alien Robot

Alien Robot by NetEnt is a video slots game with 5 reels, 3 rows, and over 243 paylines. Its cartoony theme seems to serve as a lighthearted poke at the sci-fi slot game genre that’s almost as ubiquitous as the space theme in the Atari era of gaming.

However, the robots featured are more akin to the 2005’s Robots, a CGI film by Blue Sky Studios. They don’t come across as scary and don’t look very alien at all. If anything, they look like they belong in a preschool pop-up book instead of a gambling game.

Gameplay

It’s your typical mix and match slots game. You can change the coin denomination through the Coin Value option, with 1-5 coins per line and from 0.01 to 0.5 coin size. You can select how many paylines there are (up to 243), choose how many coins you’d wager on the active lines, and decide if you want to get the Max Bet.

Incidentally, the maximum bet is 5 coins on all 243 paylines, so that’s 300 coins per spin. The circular arrow button activates the spin action, like the arm of the one-armed bandit or land-based slot machine. You can win up to 10,000 coins in the jackpot. The game even has a decent RTP of 96.3%.

Alien Robots Bonus Rounds

The game lacks a bonus game or a progressive jackpot but it does have bonus features. It has symbols for the Wilds, Scatters, and Free Spins. Alas, it doesn’t have a Multiplier feature but at least you can activate Autoplay to let the game keep spinning for you on autopilot.

Alien Robots also has Scatter wherein three or more UFO Scatter symbols allow you to activate the Free Spins feature. The free spins actually increase your chances of bigger wins. When a Wild appears in these free spins, you can activate the Sticky Wild feature that should stay on the reel, expand and greatly increase your shot at the jackpot.

Pros and Cons

Alien Robots is an adorable game with your requisite bonus features and its 243 ways to win. You also only have to play 60 of the 243 ways, so you’re not at a disadvantage in that regard. However, sometimes bigger isn’t better. Having to choose the amount of paylines can be to your detriment.

For example, if you choose to bet on a 60-payline slot, you need to win 60 times your bet in order to break even. A smaller amount of paylines has fewer requirements for betting even though with less risk comes less reward in exchange for surer returns.

Verdict

The game honestly doesn’t do much with the Aliens, Robots or the Alien Robots concept. For some players, it might come across like it’s just there for window dressing. The gameplay itself is pretty exciting even when you have to win more and risk more when dealing with so many paylines. This is because the bonus features like Free Spins and Wilds and scatters make up for it. It’s thematically uninspired but a fun game to play otherwise.

This Slots RTP = 96.6
